hello zoners, needing some help from you great people, i have gotten a Inspiron 6400/ E1505 a couple of weeks ago and now i am noticing some of my windows setting are not staying or taking, for example on my desktop my documents in the property on general setting i am unable to keep the check mark from the read-only from being checked this is the only folder on my desktop that is giving me a problem, and another thing when i try to make short cut for like windows messenger from my programs menu i like to use alt control p but when i try to do this it is saying alt control plus, this is the same with no matter what key i hit or with what ever short cut i want to use. i do have a antiviral program so don't know what the problem is, any ideas?, thanks for any help you can give.
i've been having this problem too on my school laptop. i too would like to find the fix for this.
Do either of you use a screen enlargement program like zoomText or Magic?
I haven't seen it in a long time, but screen enlargement programs use to cause problems with some of the settings.
You might also try unloading your speech program (if you run one) and see if someone can change the settings for you. If not, then call the manufacturer, if they can set the settings visually, then call your speech manufacturer.
Hope this helps.
